Disclaimer: do not read if you are not really interested in my reactions ( I don't blame you in the slightest) and really avoid this if you don't do well with TMI. There is a lot of it.
For those of you who are interested, want to compare notes, or just like knowing more about Food Reactions, here's my list. When something is labled an allergy it means that it has shown up on blood tests and/or that my reactions occur within 6 hours. Intolerances don't show on a blood-screening, but have a decided reaction when eaten, usually after at least a 12 hour period.
Allergies: my allergies are NOT severe. I don't require hospitalization, an Epi pen or any other countermeasures. I just feel miserable enough after consuming them for a lifestyle change to be prudent.
Soy
almost any level of intake
Allergy: migraines, body aches and either a few hours of vomiting or about a week of horrible diarrhea.
Wheat
can tolerate slight contamination
Allergy: migraines, swelling, bloating, loose stools.
Eggs
can tolerate in small amounts when cooked
Allergy, : stomach pain, nausea, auras.
Dairy
can tolerate slight contamination
Intolerance: bloating, gassiness, constipation, swelling.
Citric Acid
bothersome only in quantity, like a citris fruit, onions and garlic, tomatoes, or when used as an additive
Allergy: bloating, disorientation, dizziness, "foggy" memory, stomach pain, mouth sensitivity, and sore throat
Cultivars
bothersome when ingested regularly or in quantity
Intolerance: bloating, gassiness, cramping, constipation.
Spices
bothersome in almost any quantity
Allergy: mouth sensitivity, mild throat swelling, disorientation, dizziness.
Walnuts and Pecans
bothersome when ingested regularly or in quantity
Allergy: mouth sensitivity, mild throat swelling, stomachache.
White Cane Sugar
bothersome when ingested in quantity
Intolerance: fatigue, mood swings, swelling, stomachache.
